San Giovanni Lipioni Medieval village Probably dates back to the 13th-14th century. The village develops on a ridge with isolated houses arranged like a comb along a central axis that runs north-south, where the main buildings are the parish church located to the north and the Lozzi-Grosso palace. The church was possibly connected via an underpass (leading to Porta da Capo) to the Marinelli baronial palace, which no longer exists today. Instead, in the Lozzi-Grosso palace (dating back to the 17th-18th century), an underpass (leading to Porta da piedi) survives. The walls are remembered in place names, including: garden of the courtyard under the walls and street under the walls. Almost all the features of the house-walls are visible, composed of sloping masonry and supporting arches of the houses served by service roads passing through under-porticoes, through staircases, arched passages, and underground passages. Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie Located in the square of the church. It dates back to the 16th century. Fontana Vecchia Located in Via Fontana. The first restoration dates back to 1808, then resumed in 1821. A second restoration dates to 1832. Instead, a global restructuring in 1844 included the recovery of the aquifer veins. The fountain consists of a pillar, semicircular arches, masks, and slabs with vegetable and animal figures, possibly coming from a pre-existing fountain. Palazzo Lozzi 16th century. The urban circle of San Giovanni repeats the scheme of the settlement on the ridge with development in a bifacial comb with isolated houses arranged perpendicular to a central axis with a north-south axis. The central axis still corresponds today to two important architectural buildings: the parish church and the Lozzi Palace. Palazzo Rossi Dates back to the 17th century, characterized by a powerful stone arch and a door with period decorations. Chapel of Santa Liberata Located outside the inhabited center. Originally built between the 12th and 13th centuries, with a characteristic cross-shaped rose window that stands out on the stone facade, with two biforas. The chapel has been recently restored.
