The castle was built in the 11th century by the Clavesana family, on the road that connected the Ligurian coast to the first fertile plains of present-day Piedmont, with a military defensive function. Today it is privately owned by a Milanese family who has undertaken conservative renovations to maintain its high historical, artistic and cultural value intact. A walk among the "alleys" From the panoramic parking lot a small road takes us to the heart of the village. After a downhill stretch we arrive in Piazza della Torre.
