Description

In a residential area but a few steps from the lake and the center, we offer a portion of a house free on three sides with a lake view. The building, built in the 30s, is on two floors and consists of a living room, kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor, two large bedrooms and a second bathroom on the first floor. The house is completed by a garden of about 800 square meters plus accessories and two parking spaces. The building needs renovation. The ancient settlement of the territory is proven by the archaeological finds in the hamlet of Cireggio where, in the San Bernardo area, fragments of earthenware and stone from the late Bronze and Iron Ages were found, and on Mount Zuoli, where a protohistoric altar and a possible ritual slide were identified. A hypothesis, proposed by the historian Antonio Ruscon, would have Lake Orta populated by the Osci (a name that local scholars had derived from "Oscela", believed to be the ancient name of Ossola) of Iberian origin, from whose dialect the toponym Humana-Umenia-Vemenia would have derived (from umacia = lake). Another legend is that the name of Vemania derives from "Vae moenia" (Woe to you, oh walls!), a curse that Julius Caesar would have hurled against the formidable walls of the city. These and other hypotheses (such as that of the fabulous people of the Usii), are to be relegated to the myths created by a certain erudition, richer in love of country than in critical spirit. The Middle Ages and the Modern Age With the convention of 11 August 1221 the nobles of Crusinallo gave Omegna to the people of Novara. The text reads: "Crusinallo - place and villa of its Vemenian burgo - Castrum Desideratum (the Tower of Omegna) - the Strona - Durantinus de ripa - Gravalona - Anagueglia (Nigoglia) - locus Bagnella - Ciserim - Cocarna superiore - Cocarna inferiore (not Coquarna as in Bescapè) - Cranna Gattugno - Bulio - Germagno - Noseto - Laurelia - Lizogno - Garnarolo." Omegna was invested on 22 March 1413 by Filippo Maria Visconti to Francesco Barbavara and was inherited first by the Visconti Borromeo then by the Borromeo Arese in 1714 and remained in the family until the arrival of the French Jacobins. The Jacobin uprisings - Napoleon - the nineteenth century The Novara area was also swept by the libertarian and republican wave following the French revolution. In 1796 a plot by Azari from Pallanza, who intended to raise the region to make it an autonomous department, failed. In 1798 the French general Léotaud landed in Pallanza with a host of armed men, occupied Cannobio and part of Ossola; but was defeated by the Savoy troops of the Marquis d'Oncieux between Gravellona and Ornavasso. At dawn on May 29, the twenty-year-old Milanese Graziano Belloni, taken prisoner at that moment, was shot in Omegna. At the beginning of Napoleon, Cusio was occupied by the French, then by the Austrians. Later, the canton of Omegna, subjected to the V district with headquarters in Arona, was part of the department of Agogna in the Cisalpine Republic (1800); with the Italian kingdom desired by Bonaparte (1805) it was subjected to the vice-prefecture of Arona. After Napoleon was defeated, in 1815 the Congress of Vienna sanctioned the restoration of the Savoy; the people of Omegna joyfully greeted the return of Vittorio Emanuele I.--f23512811574bdc24a65509f65e4d054!
