The villa is based on the french Bastide style; the upper floor (which is the entrance level) having high wood beam ceilings and is a single open space, with direct access to the major terraces, suitable for family living or entertaining. The villa is heated and cooled by underfloor piping . The heating and cooling is provided by a heat pump with gas auxiliary (should it ever get that cold) fed from a 1000 litre bulk gas tank. The piping is in place to extend this to the second building, but has not been used yet. Clean water capacity is 20,000 litres, and is fed by rain water capture or delivery.
